TRADITIONAL BIRCH BARK BITING ARTIST

Tānsi, kîkway!

Hello and welcome!

Halfmoon Woman is a keeper of ancient knowledge and a rare Indigenous art form called—Wiigwaasowin mîkosimin or birch bark biting. With every delicate fold and precise bite, she transforms thin layers of birch bark into intricate designs that carry the spirit of her ancestors.

Her work honours the past while bringing it into the future, creating unique, timeless pieces that celebrate heritage and resilience.
